Some Questions and Answers
What was LP Investments?
LP Futures and Investments was set up in 2005 as a consortium of investors who jointly pooled and invested their funds. The Consortium employed a Fund Manager to oversee and action its decisions, as well as a small number of operational staff who served its members. Since 2015 it has been known under the shortened name "LP Investments".
How do I become a client of LP Futures and Investments?
The Fund is now dormant, but we have never accepted "clients". We neither managed funds on behalf of clients, nor did we accept payment to provide investment advice to clients. If you have personal funds that you wish to invest in equities or derivatives, contact either an authorised investment consultant or approach a unit or investment trust. LP Investments only managed funds owned jointly by the Consortium. Members of the Consortium had an equal say in the investment decisions taken. The Fund Manager simply facilitated and actioned their decisions.
I am intersted in becoming a member of the LP Futures Consortium. How can I join?
We are not looking for additional members and existing members no longer invest funds through the scheme. If you are an experienced investor looking for opportunities with alternative investment funds, we can give you information on directories that you can consult. Please refer to our contacts page in this case.
How did LP Investments Operate?
Members of the Consortium shared equally in the risks and the decision making. The scheme was a qualified investor scheme, where new members were accepted on an occasional basis. New members were never accepted, however, unless they had signficant funds to invest and, given the risks involved, proven investment experience in equities and/or derivatives. The procedure involved in joining took at least six months. During its time, the Consortium has expanded considerably and its membership was capped in 2019 as there would have been overheads involved if we had expanded much more.
